Because we’re trying to encourage family members of all ages to come out and join us, we will also be offering discounts to families who sign up multiple participants (from tots to grandmas and grandpas): a 10% discount will apply to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th…member of your family who registers in our recreational programs!

Scholarships are available to eligible families through the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program. Please click here for more information.

General class information

Participants should wear comfortable clothing for classes.

Bare feet or gymnastics shoes only—no socks or tights.

Hair should be tied back and kept off the face.

Classes start promptly – please make sure your gymnast arrives slightly early so that she/he can fully participate in warm-up (good exercising habits start early!). Gymnasts who are more than 10 minutes late may not be able to fully participate in class.

Apparatus is provided for ALL recreational gymnasts, however, RG equipment is available at United Cycle in Edmonton (10323 78th Ave, Edmonton).

What will participants learn in class?

Parents and tots will be guided through activities and circuits that will begin to develop fundamental movement skills (walk, run, skip, hop, gallop, bounce, throw, roll).  Parents are actively involved while kids explore the equipment and movement.

We follow the guidelines set by the Long-Term Athlete Development program developed by the Canadian Sport Centres. Athletes who progress through LTAD experience training and competition in programs that consider their developmental age. Parent and Tot classes focus on the first level of LTAD: Active Start learning fundamental movements (running, jumping, twisting, kicking, throwing, catching) and link them together into play.
