About our coaches

Kristi1Kristi Skebo, Head Coach and owner of Arabesque Rhythmics, is a Level 2 certified coach in Rhythmic Gymnastics under the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and is enthusiastic to share her knowledge with gymnasts of all ages and abilities. She is also the Competitive Development Committee Chairperson for Rhythmic Gymnastics Alberta as well as a Foundations to Gymnastics course facilitator. She is also a member of the Gymnastics Canada RG Program Assembly.

Kristi has coached recreational, performance and competitive gymnasts for over 18 years in BC, ON, Michigan, Georgia and now Alberta. Some of these athletes have competed at U.S. and Canadian National Championships, as well as the 2007 RG World Championships (U.S. National Team Group) and the 2008 Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Championships (watch Team Chattooga perform at 2008 Worlds).WG07georgia

She is also closely involved with Gymnastics for All programs in Canada and the U.S. which promote participation in group gymnastics for athletes of all ages and abilities – many of these athletes participate in large gymnastics festivals at Provincial, National and World events. Most recently, she choreographed the USA All-Star routine for gymnasts from 5 different clubs across the U.S., ranging in age from 14-74 and including Special Olympic athletes at the 2007 World Gymnaestrada (Austria).

In addition to rhythmic gymnastics, she has an extensive background in dance with experience in: ballet, jazz, ballroom, bellydance, flamenco and modern. In 2010-2011, she volunteered as a strength trainer/conditioner with the Alberta Sport Development Centre's Athlete Enhancement Program in Edmonton.

CoachKrystinKrystin Saito, Recreational Coach, is a young, up-and-coming coach from Parkland Rhythmics in Keephills (certified NCCP Level 1). She is coaching our Tuesday night recreational classes this year. Krystin is currently on the Parkland Rhythmics Senior Performing Team. She also competed at the Provincial level for three years. We are really excited to have Krystin join our staff this year!

 

Eva Driessen, Pre Coach-in-Training, is our first gymnast to take the leap into coaching! She will be helping Coach Kristi with one of our Rainbow Rhythmics classes (4-5 years). Eva is a real leader in the gym and we're so excited she's putting her talents into coaching as well!

Erin VandenBrink, Ladies Coach (evening class), is a certified NCCP Lv 1 coach who has done performance rhythmic gymnastics in Edmonton and Winnipeg. Erin is a veteran of multiple World Gymnaestradas and was one of the first members of our Ladies Classes. This year, Erin will be teaching the evening Ladies Class and we are so lucky to have such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic coach on our team!
