About the coach
Kristi Skebo, Head Coach and owner of Arabesque Rhythmics, is a Level 2 certified coach in Rhythmic Gymnastics under the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and is enthusiastic to share her knowledge with gymnasts of all ages and abilities. She is also the Coaching Chairperson for Rhythmic Gymnastics Alberta as well as a Foundations 2 Gymnastics course facilitator. She is also a member of the Gymnastics Canada RG Program Assembly.
Kristi has coached recreational, performance and competitive gymnasts for over 18 years in BC, ON, Michigan, Georgia and now Alberta. Some of these athletes have competed at U.S. and Canadian National Championships, as well as the 2007 RG World Championships (U.S. National Team Group) and the 2008 Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Championships (watch Team Chattooga perform at 2008 Worlds).
She is also closely involved with Gymnastics for All programs in Canada and the U.S. which promote participation in group gymnastics for athletes of all ages and abilities – many of these athletes participate in large gymnastics festivals at Provincial, National and World events. Most recently, she choreographed the USA All-Star routine for gymnasts from 5 different clubs across the U.S., ranging in age from 14-74 and including Special Olympic athletes at the 2007 World Gymnaestrada (Austria).
In addition to rhythmic gymnastics, she has an extensive background in dance with experience in: ballet, jazz, ballroom, bellydance, flamenco and modern.
